Forehead Fat Grafting

A woman in her 40s addresses forehead hollowing and wrinkles with a two-session fat grafting procedure; before-and-after comparisons at 2 months post-op.

Forehead Fat Grafting

* Basic Information

· Age: 40s, Female

· Skin elasticity: Mildly reduced

· Forehead wrinkles: Not severe at rest, but deepen noticeably when the brows are raised while opening the eyes

· Chief concern: 'I am bothered by the hollowing and wrinkles on my forehead.'

* Consultation

· Options for correcting a sunken forehead include implants, fillers, and fat grafting.

· Each method has its own pros and cons. 1. Implants carry risks such as infection, inflammation, scarring, and reduced sensation, so they are not frequently recommended. 2. Fillers offer certain advantages — no fat harvesting is required and overcorrection is unnecessary — however, results are not permanent and may diminish over time. 3. Fat grafting involves a degree of natural reabsorption, so a slight overcorrection is performed in order to achieve the desired outcome. This can result in more pronounced bruising and swelling immediately after the procedure. Once the autologous fat successfully engrafts, however, results last semi-permanently without significant complications.

· As this patient had already decided on fat grafting, we explained the procedure and expected recovery in detail, then proceeded directly.

· Fat grafting also tends to impart a more radiant, luminous skin tone as an added benefit, so we anticipate an excellent outcome. :)

* Treatment Plan

Fat Grafting + Botox (Forehead)

Front view (Before / 2 Months Post-op)

Left lateral view (Before / 2 Months Post-op)

Left 45° view (Before / 2 Months Post-op)

Right 45° view (Before / 2 Months Post-op)

Right lateral view (Before / 2 Months Post-op)

Inferior view (Before / 2 Months Post-op)

Superior view (Before / 2 Months Post-op)

* Post-operative Progress

· After the first session, some areas remained slightly undercorrected, so extra attention was given during the second session. Areas subject to more frequent muscle movement naturally tend to reabsorb fat at a higher rate.

· There was some swelling and bruising following the procedure, but thanks to the patient's patience throughout the recovery period, we achieved a wonderful result.

· Thank you for referring your friend — we look forward to an equally wonderful outcome for her as well. :)

Consultations and procedures should always be performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon!
